Day 1

We begin in Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial capital and largest city.

Visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque.

Travel to Rabat to spend the afternoon visiting the sights of the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls surrounding the Royal Palace), the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and the Oudayas Kasbah.

Enjoy fabulous views of the Atlantic Ocean and visit exquisite Moroccan artisan galleries.

Day 2

After breakfast we will visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial cities.

Here you will visit the medina which is surrounded by a triple thickness of 40km long walls which preserves one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco; the Royal Stables of the Alaouite Sultan Moulay Ismail, and the Jewish Quarter.

We will continue through the fertile agricultural hills to the Roman Ruins at Volubilis, an open air museum and world heritage site. Volubilis is a relaxed way of envisaging an important part of Moroccan history.

After the visit of Volubilis, we will drive directly to Chefchaouen the “Blue City” of Morocco just south of the Mediterranean coastline.

Day 3

Today you will have a day trip Chefchaouen.

Explore the white and blue washed walls of the Medina or chill out around the main square and visit the Place Mohammed Park which has wonderful views of the Rif Mountains.

Make sure you try the local goats’ cheese, famous in the region and take some time to look at the artisanal woolen products or even enjoy a walk in the surrounding countryside.

Chefchaouen is perfect for a relaxed day of sightseeing.

Depart for Fes to arrive by sunset.

Day 4

A private tour guide will help you to explore Fes, the most ancient and holy of the Imperial cities.

Your cultural and historic tour will take you through the 2000 year old living medina; a labyrinth of narrow lanes alive with markets and souks, craftsmen, donkeys and mules transporting their loads.

Visit the Attarine and Bou Inania Medersas (Islamic universities), the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque.

Finish your tour with a visit to Fes Jdid, and the revered Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view of Fes.

Day 5

Depart Fes for Merzouga.

Watch the landscape change as your journey takes you through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas mountains, passing through Ifrane, a well-known ski resort town created in 1929, and Azrou, an important center for Berber artisans.

Relax over lunch in Midelt.

Continue to Erfoud, via Errachidia, and the Ziz valley dotted with palm trees, fortified villages, and Berber farming communities.

Arrive in Merzouga, the Erg Chebbi region of the Sahara desert, and take a camel to begin your Moroccan desert adventure!

Watch the sunset over the majestic Sahara dunes, and spend the night in an oasis in a desert camp.

Day 6

After breakfast, we return from the desert to drive to explore the tiny villages around Erg Chebbi dunes such as Hassi Labied, Merdani, Khamlia, and M’fis.

On our way to Khamlia, we expect to meet locals showing their desert foxes. You may also encounter desert reptiles and mammals along the way.

We will visit the village of the Khamlia, originally home to slaves from Sudan, to experience their music and culture.

Our next stop will be the panoramic view of golden dunes near the Algerian border. You will have the chance to visit the sites of black volcanic rocks before continuing on to reach the panorama near Yasmina lac (if there’s water in) where you will view amazing dunes in addition to the nearby lake (springtime).

Not far away there is the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, including flamingos. You may also want to visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities.

After, we will go back to Merzouga where we will spend the night in hotel near the dunes.

Day 7

Following breakfast in the hotel, we depart to Ouarzazate via the stunning valleys and gorges of Todra.

We’ll stop to tak in the panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt then another photo stop near the Atlas Film Studios.

We’ll view Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, used for more films than any other location in Morocco; including, Lawrence of Arabia, The Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Day 8

We continue to Marrakech, via the stunning Tichka Pass (2260m) which offers dramatic panoramic views in the heart of the Atlas Mountain chain.

Day 9

You will have an entire day devoted to exploring the famous city of Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city which has for centuries been an important stop for traders and travelers.

Your tour will include the Menera Gardens, the famous Jardin Majoralle, the Bahia Palace and the Saadian tombs.

Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, with its 77m high minaret dominating the center of Marrakech.

In the afternoon, visit Djemaa El Fna Square, the center square of the medina which comes alive at night with local storytellers, musicians, entertainers, snake charmers and the scent of delicious food being grilled over hot coals.
